We understand your concerns regarding the use of mercury fillings. We have elected to offer our patients the option of using advanced, new fillings made of tooth-colored materials that contain no metals or mercury, instead of traditional silver fillings.
Wisdom Tooth Removal
Wisdom Teeth can have a tendency to cause serious problems. If this is the case, they need to be skillfully and gently removed. Some reasons to remove Wisdom Teeth may include:
Damage to other teeth: That extra set of molars can push your other teeth around, causing mouth pain and bite problems.
Jaw damage: Cysts can form around the Wisdom Teeth. If they aren’t treated, they can hollow out your jaw and damage nerves.
Sinus Issues: Problems with Wisdom Teeth can lead to sinus pain, pressure, and congestion.
Inflamed Gums: Tissue around the area can swell and may be hard to clean.
Cavities: Swollen gums can create pockets between teeth that help bacteria grow and cavities form.
TMJ (Jaw Pain Therapy)
TMJ, or Temporomandibular Joint, is located right in front of the ear. It connects the mandible, or lower jawbone to the temporal bone in the skull. The description Temporomandibular Dysfunction, or TMD, describes a wide range of disorders of the TMJ and the associated muscles. Symptoms include jaw pain, limited mouth opening, headaches, ear problems, neck and shoulder pain, and popping or clicking of the joints.
Treatment of TMJ disorders includes conservative orthotics (retainer-like devices) that help place the jaws in a more comfortable position to allow your body to heal itself. We offer a non-surgical, drug-free approach to your condition.
We offer a free consultation if you are interested in discussing your situation with Dr. Schumacher. After that, a comprehensive exam is necessary to diagnose your condition.
Filtered Water Lines
We understand your concern about water quality and the importance of keeping you and your family healthy. For this reason, we utilize filtered water lines during our dental procedures. By filtering the water used in dental procedures, we are able to get rid of any substances that may compromise the health of our patients. The safety, health and dental care of patients are our top priorities. This is just another way to show how much we care!
Sealants & Fluoride Treatments
Tooth decay, otherwise known as cavities, can be a significant problem for children as well as adults. There are numerous factors that lead to tooth decay and there are ways to prevent it. We offer sealants and fluoride treatments to help prevent tooth decay, which keeps your mouth happy!
Root Canal Therapy
Did you know that each tooth contains a long, thin strand of dental pulp that provides the tooth with nutrients and nerves and extends down to the tooth’s root? If the pulp becomes infected or injured, the tooth’s nerves die and often, without endodontic treatment, the tooth would have to be removed. Root canals are designed to save such damaged teeth. During the procedure (performed under anesthesia), a gap is drilled into the tooth’s crown and pulp chamber, diseased pulp is reshaped or removed, and the tooth is permanently sealed with a gold, porcelain, or tooth-colored crown.
