Your teeth are what you eat

When it comes to oral health, diet is a very important factor. Make sure that your diet is rich in healthful foods that are loaded with vitamins and minerals to aid in gum disease prevention.

Many people do not know that you should NOT brush immediately after a meal. In fact, you should wait for at least an hour then brush. Your tooth enamel may be softened after eating or drinking and brushing too soon could result in enamel loss.

While sugary foods and drinks should be avoided as much as possible, if you feel that you must have them, try to consume them only at regular mealtimes to reduce the amount of time your teeth are exposed to them. Try to avoid snacking altogether.
